Meet Jolie.
She’s wrapping up her last semester at Nolensville High School and is one of my Class of 2019 Models. From the moment I met Jolie, I knew that she’s the kind of girl who brings the party with her wherever she goes.
Her senior portrait session didn’t disappoint. We were fighting the wind back on an unusually warm day in September, but Jolie worked it like a pro. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day…
Why did you choose Erin Smagala Photography?
I was selected to be one of her senior models and I loved the way she took pictures. When I first met her she was so incredibly sweet and made me feel so comfortable. We had such a great time and we just clicked and that was super cool. Erin’s just all around an amazing and sweet person that makes everyone feel so loved and welcome. I felt a true connection to her because her daughter Veda is adopted and so am I. It was so cool to hear her story and share that with me.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happy? You would think that it’s an easy question to answer. It’s silly but when I have the opportunity to travel and go different places it’s truly exhilarating. I love being on the road, in a plane, on a boat, you name it I love it. It makes me so happy knowing that I don’t know the adventure ahead and that’s what makes it fun. The unknown and the adventure is exciting. Having the opportunity to emerge yourself into a different setting and experience how other live is so incredibly amazing.
What was your favorite part about the photo shoot?
My favorite part of the shoot was just getting to talk in between shoots and locations. We always laughed and we always had something to talk about. It was so funny because we planned my shoot in September thinking it would be cooler. Nope, we were very wrong. It was SO hot but thank goodness Erin was prepared with a portable fan. It really was my saving grace.
What is your favorite color?
Yellow
What is your favorite television show to binge watch?
The Office
Name one thing you have too much of.
La Croix
Name one thing you cannot live without.
It sounds silly but the gym. I go everyday to Life Time. It has been such a great outlet for me when I get stressed, anxious, or nervous. Exercising for me always has made me feel so much better and I would recommended it to anyone.
Which colleges are you looking into?
I will be going to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the fall.
What would be your dream job?
My dream job would be working in either Sports Marketing or Brand Marketing
Who inspires you?
My parents. My parents are my favorite people. As I have gotten older, I have learned to appreciate them so much more than I did when I was younger. They really are my best friends. I look up to them so much, and I admire everything about them.
How did you feel about your makeup and the makeup artist at your shoot?
I absolutely loved my makeup and the artist. I told her that I didn’t like a lot of makeup and my fear was that I would look like someone that I’m not. She did such an amazing job and doing just the right amount and making me feel beautiful.
What is your favorite high school memory so far?
Thus far, my favorite high school memory would be Best Buddies Prom. It’s prom for special needs students in the state of Tennessee and it is such an amazing experience to see such a diverse group of people come together in one place spending their night with such amazing and sweet people. It’s so heartwarming to see the buddies having the time of their life and feel included and surrounded by a group of people that absolutely love them.
What are your final thoughts about the entire ESP experience?
My overall experience was amazing. My pictures turned out amazing and I loved the locations that I went to. All in all it was such a fun day, from getting my makeup done to taking amazing pictures and having people stare at you, it was great. I will always be so thankful the opportunity to work with Erin and get to know her on a personal level. She truly made this whole experience effortless and so fun.
